Paremata has a suburban shopping strip, but not as you know it. It's much bigger than most. The Mana shops span a New World, two petrol stations, bars, a post shop, takeaways and eateries, a liquor store, antique shop, a policing hub, hairdressers, beautician, medical centre, physio, dentist, and gym. South of the bridge, Paremata Crescent boasts a petrol station, DIY store, a building yard, a health/beauty shop, and a hairdresser.
The Dolly Varden Reserve car park is home to a growing band of mobile food and drink stands; a popular coffee van is on site during the week and on Thursdays and Fridays he’s joined by a couple of foodies who sell fresh, hot food.
Across the road you’ll find a selection of shops, including a café, burger bar, popular Indian restaurant, gym and ocean outfitters store. For bigger-ticket items it's a 10 minute drive to Porirua's city centre retail precincts.
